Milk Kefir 




Recently I was given some milk kefir to try out. I’ve never made milk kefir but there’s a first to everything. I’ve been wanting to ferment foods because of the enormous health benefits in balancing gut and giving you necessary probiotics.  FYI-balancing the gut biome can provide some incredible mental health benefits. Try a google search to learn more about how and why our gut is often referred to as the "second brain".

I’m a bit dairy sensitive so if I were to pick I probably would have gone with sourkrout or something but- because of the changes in the milk through the fermentation process I’ve decided I’m going to try this- I’ll let you know how it goes.

I have already strained my kefir, added new milk to the grains and plan to make a milkshake today for my family and I to try. I’m especially excited for my kids to try this- I have some kids who have had gut damage that I’d like to heal.

Update: Made a fruit smoothie with the kefir and got the green light from the kids AND adults
